Sandy Donaldson, one of the founding partners of DW Fox Tucker, leads the firm’s Corporate & Commercial practice. For more than 45 years, Sandy has advised on corporate and commercial issues, ranging from corporate fundraisings and asset acquisitions and restructuring to tax and the commercialisation of intellectual property. Regardless of the issues, Sandy’s practical, direct and timely approach remains consistent. Sandy specialises in advising technology companies and research centres on the commercialisation and protection of new technologies. He also has particular expertise in the wine, agribusiness, ICT and private health insurance industries. His considerable expertise is evidenced by the industry accolades he regularly receives. These include multiple recognitions in Best Lawyers Australia in the areas of Intellectual Property, Information Technology, Corporate and Commercial and Agriculture & Rural Affairs, including Lawyer of the Year for Adelaide for IP in 2019 and Agriculture and Rural Affairs for 2018. He has also been referred to as the “patriarch” of SA’s IP market in Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession. Sandy is a Notary Public and Chartered Tax Adviser.
