Mr. Glenn McGowan KC, Partner & Chief Counsel, Gadens
Glenn is one of Melbourne’s most respected legal authorities and is widely recognised within the profession as a leader in his field. Prior to joining Gadens, Glenn spent 27 years at the Victorian Bar, the last 10 of which were as Senior Counsel. Glenn practises in commercial law, principally in intellectual property and shareholder class actions. He has extensive advice, trial and appellate experience in litigation (courts and tribunals) involving patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, confidential information and trade practices involving all areas of technology including engineering, chemistry, polymers, software, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Ms. Olivia Coburn, Senior Associate, Gadens
Olivia Coburn is an intellectual property lawyer practising in trade mark, copyright, design and patent law. She also has experience in confidential information, consumer and contract law, and assists clients to implement anti-counterfeiting and customs seizure strategies. Olivia specialises in the prosecution, management, exploitation and enforcement of IP rights. She has acted in disputes regarding IP rights, passing off, misleading or deceptive conduct, trade secrets and the misuse of confidential information. She is regularly involved in the IP aspects of major corporate transactions. Olivia drafts and negotiates intellectual property and technology licences and agreements as well as assists clients to commercialise their IP assets. She has worked with clients across a range of industries including technology, luxury goods, apparel, footwear, cosmetics, beauty, FMCG, health, fitness, furniture, lighting, homewares and designer builders. In 2022 Olivia was recognised as a Rising Star by Managing IP.


Ms. Savannah Hardingham, Partner, Gadens
Savannah specialises in the protection, management, exploitation and enforcement of IP rights including trade marks, copyright and designs. Recognised as an experienced practitioner, she provides advice and handles disputes regarding IP rights, passing off, misleading and deceptive conduct, trade secrets and the misuse of confidential information. Savannah also manages trade mark and registered design portfolios for both Australian and global businesses. She acts for a range of clients including brand owners, designers and retailers in the fashion, footwear, furniture, lighting and homewares industries. In addition, she regularly acts for a range of architects, designer builders and technology companies. In 2021 and 2022, Savannah was nominated and selected as a Notable Practitioner in Managing IP magazine’s ‘IP Stars’ rankings. Ms. Fiona Hansen, Senior Managing Director and Head of Australia Valuations Advisory, FTI Consulting
Fiona specialises in valuations of businesses, intangible assets, equity and debt instruments, executive options, impairment testing, shareholder disputes and independent expert’s reports. Fiona has prepared numerous valuation reports for various purposes, including mergers and acquisitions, accounting, taxation, stamp duty, shareholder disputes, Corporations Act and ASX requirements. She has specialist experience in the healthcare, aged care, technology, IT, telecommunications and infrastructure industries as well as start-up businesses. Fiona’s valuation reports comply with the relevant standards or professional requirements. They are succinct, easy to read and give clients confidence in the final outcome. She has also undertaken numerous corporate finance assignments involving mergers and acquisitions, divestments and financial due diligence. With over 28 years' experience in corporate finance and business valuations, Fiona has held senior roles in the Big 4 accounting firms in Australia, Europe and South Africa. Fiona is a regular contributor of articles for the Business Valuation Australia, Australia’s leading industry journal for valuation practitioners, and a presenter at conferences on the topic of business valuations.


Ms. Meagan Ryan, Senior Legal Counsel, Bega Group
Meagan Ryan, Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial and Intellectual Property), Bega Group. Meagan is an intellectual property lawyer with a particular interest in trade marks. Working in-house at Bega Group she is fortunate to work with iconic brands such as VEGEMITE. Meagan has dual undergraduate degrees of Law and Biomedical Science from Bond University and a Master of Laws (Intellectual Property and Information Law) from King's College London. Meagan is a previous Co-Chair of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Intellectual Property / Information Technology Committee.
