Mr. Rodney Worth, Barrister, John Toohey Chambers
Rodney Worth practises as a barrister from John Toohey Chambers primarily in family law, protection & care and restraining order matters. Rodney has worked both in private practice and at Legal Aid Western Australia, and more recently spent two years as the Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Sutherland, Chief Judge of the Family Court of Western Australia. Before practising law, Rodney worked as a contracts specialist on large-scale infrastructure projects in Western Australia. Rodney holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours).
Mr. Stuart Shepherd, Barrister, Murray Chambers
Stuart Shepherd is an independent barrister. He is an effective trial and appellate advocate with more than 20 years litigation experience. Stuart has worked in Perth and London. As a member of Murray Chambers, Stuart provides considered advice and persuasive advocacy at both trial and appeal in a broad range of practice areas. He has a particular interest in equitable claims. He is a member of the WA Bar Association and the Chancery Bar Association of England and Wales. In addition to his corporate and commercial practice, Stuart also accepts instructions in defamation and probate and family provision claims, disciplinary, property, and some criminal matters including financial crime. Stuart is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Curtin University and previously the University of Western Australia, lecturing in advocacy and civil procedure. He is also a teacher in Curtin University’s Professional Legal Training course. Between 2011, Stuart was the Chairman of the Legal Aid Commission of Western Australia. At various times Stuart has been a member of the Brief Editorial Committee and the legal member of Joondalup Health Campus Human Research Ethics Committee.
Mr. Lachlan Palmos, Principal, Palmos Legal
Lachlan graduated with honours from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle, and was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 2013. Prior to establishing Palmos Legal in 2018, Lachlan spent three years at a highly regarded boutique commercial practice in West Perth and later at the Perth office of top-tier national law firm. Lachlan appears regularly as counsel in most Western Australian courts and tribunals, and has particular expertise in property law, insolvency and commercial disputes. Lachlan’s clients include many of Western Australia’s largest private schools (both independent and SECWA schools), major insurance companies, residential and commercial construction companies, law firms and accounting practices. Lachlan has an ongoing pro-bono practice, and has been the Chairman of the Western Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association Tribunal since 2019. Lachlan is also a member of several Legal Aid Commission panels, and has held lecturing and tutoring positions in law units at UWA and Central Queensland University.
Mr. Alexander Gordon, Solicitor, Palmos Legal
Alex was admitted to practice in 2019 and holds a bachelor of law from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle. Alex is an effective litigator with experience as instructing solicitor in a number trials and interlocutory matters in the Supreme Court, and has considerable experience in debt recovery, wills and estates and general commercial dispute resolution.
Mr. Aaron McDonald, Managing Director, Pragma Lawyers
Aaron McDonald founded Pragma Lawyers in 2014 and it has quickly become a well-known name in the Western Australian legal arena with a reputation for attaining swift resolutions for clients. Pragma has been recognized as a national leader in dispute resolution and commercial litigation thanks to its service delivery and achievements such as winning an astonishing 95% of decisions across relevant Courts, Tribunals and Commissions in 2021. It has an outstanding depth and breadth of technical expertise across dispute dispute resolution and litigation, insolvency and restructuring, property, business law, employment law, and industrial relations. Aaron graduated with a Masters of Laws from the University of Western Australia. He was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2008 and in the High Court of Australia in 2009. Aaron regularly appears as an advocate in all Courts and Tribunals. Prior to establishing his own firm, Aaron spend 5½ years at a major international law firm in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division. He was promoted to Senior Associate during this time. Aaron lectures to law and business students at a tertiary level, establishing and coordinating the Innovation in Legal Practice Management Unit taught at UWA Law School. He also gives presentations to members of the legal profession. Aaron is the Chair of the Subiaco Justice Centre, a not-for-profit community legal centre he founded in 2017, and a committee member of The Piddington Society and the Law Society of Western Australia.
