Morgan Solomon, Director, Solomon Hollett Lawyers
Founding Director at Perth law firm Solomon Hollett Lawyers, Morgan is a well-established lawyer with many years' experience in commercial, business, wills and estates and estate litigation. Prior to opening Solomon Hollett Lawyers along with Craig Hollett in 2015, Morgan was Director at one of Western Australia's leading midsized law firm. Morgan has particular interest in Wills, Contested Estates, Contentious Probate and Administration matters and currently is the author of the Lexis Nexis practical guides on non contentious probate, administration and Wills in WA. His Will drafting is also informed by a very broad range of commercial, business and litigation law experience. In recent years Morgan has held the positions of Vice Chair and then Chairman of the prestigious Law Australasia group of leading independent law firms across Australia. A third generation West Australian lawyer, he also takes an active role in the State's cultural community having studied fine arts for four years before his studies in law. Morgan is Chair of the Perth Theatre Trust, a Founding Member of the WA Chamber of Culture and the Arts, and is also Board Member of the Prostate Cancer Foundation WA.


Lee-Ann Cartoon, Principal, Succession Solutions Perth
Lee-Ann Cartoon is an experienced tax and succession planning lawyer. She has worked throughout Australia and the UK advising clients ranging from global financial institutions and multinational energy and resource companies to high net wealth individuals. Lee-Ann's experience has given her an appreciation of the importance of approaching any matter commercially, logically and with the client's end goal front of mind. Lee-Ann has developed a particular interest in the area of complex estate and succession planning and regularly advises and presents across these areas.


Tim Pepper, Consultant, Robertson Hayles Lawyers
Tim Pepper' s expertise is primarily in the areas of tax, superannuation, wills and estate planning, business succession, trusts and property law. With more than 30 years of involvement in the legal field, Tim is a highly experienced commercial lawyer who works closely with financial advisers, accountants and their clients to provide common sense strategies and effective solutions for the protection of their families, their business and their superannuation. Drawing on varied experiences including advising on commercial operations in Hong Kong, London and Australia and having consulted to many large financial institutions, Tim understands that devising appropriate solutions entails an understanding not only of the law but the implementation of strategies that will meet the client's long term needs. Tim works with his referrers as a team recognising that it is paramount that they work together towards protecting the long term interest of their mutual client. Elmi Carlean, Barrister, Francis Burt Chambers
Elmi Carlean has been a member of the Western Australian Bar Association practicing from Francis Burt Chambers in Perth since 2015. Prior to joining the bar, Elmi practiced in Brisbane between 2004 and 2009 where she was involved in a wide range of commercial litigation, insurance claims and corporate governance matters. From 2009 to 2015 she acted as in-house legal counsel in the Public Sector for the Departments of Water, Environment, and Transport, respectively, and has expertise in resources disputes, particularly in the water sector and mining industry. Elmi has particular expertise as an advocate, and has appeared as Counsel in all State and Federal Courts and Tribunals. She has a strong interest in mediation and commercial negotiation, having completed training both as a mediator and in commercial arbitration. Elmi practices predominantly in commercial litigation, taxation law, deceased estates, family law, employment law and migration law. She has a Maritime Law LLM from the University of Queensland and has acted in a number of shipping matters as well as several aviation claims. She is an adjunct lecturer for the College of Law, has published a number of articles in various legal publications and presented papers and training courses at numerous CPD events in WA. Elmi regularly contributes to the profession by way of acting pro bono on worthy matters and volunteering her time in order to mentor students.


Peter Nevin, Partner, Taylor Smart Lawyers & Notaries
Peter Nevin is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation practice group of Taylor Smart Lawyers and Notaries. Admitted to practice in 1995, Peter's areas of expertise are wills and estate disputes, commercial litigation and employment law, with a particular interest in wills and estate litigation. He has acted as Counsel for executors, beneficiaries and claimants in relation to Family Provision Act claims, will disputes, capacity matters, estate administration disputes, and other contentious wills and estate matters, and was named by Doyle's Guide as a recommended wills and estate litigation lawyer in Western Australia in 2016 and 2017. Peter is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
