Presenters

Seun Idowu, Partner, Hall & Wilcox
Seun works across the NSW and ACT jurisdictions and is a defendant insurance litigator with a speciality practice in health law, aged care and disability and sensitive issues including historical abuse. Seun provides her clients with proactive support on receipt of instructions including prompt investigation and early advice and recommendations designed to promote cost efficiency. Her rigorous approach to matters is tempered by her empathy. Her aim is to expeditiously resolve meritorious claims on best terms to the insurer and insured, and robustly defend unfounded and opportunistic claims. Prior to transitioning into private practice, Seun spent almost a decade working within the NSW public service including what was known as the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. She provided legal and policy advice to Government and NGO stakeholders around issues concerning risk mitigation, ageing, disability, assault and trespass to vulnerable individuals, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, and home care.

Grace Collis, Senior Associate, Hall & Wilcox
Grace Collis is a defendant insurance practitioner with extensive experience across workers and seafarers’ compensation as well as medical negligence. She provides advice and representation for insurers and their insureds from early claim inception through to litigated civil negligence cases. She holds both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy and Human Biology), placing her in a unique position to understand both the medical aetiology of an injury and issues of factual causation. Given her background, she is regularly briefed in cases of complex, catastrophic injuries and fatalities, and has an emerging interest in how AI will transform healthcare and potentially augment the civil standard of care for practitioners.

Paul Conte, Senior Financial Planner, Health & Finance Integrated
Paul Conte is the Principal Financial Adviser at Health & Finance Integrated, specialising in the financial circumstances of people affected by serious injury, illness and disability. Working closely with personal injury lawyers and other professionals, Paul helps clients navigate the financial complexities that often accompany insurance claims, compensation settlements and significant changes to their health and capacity to work. His work spans superannuation, personal insurance, compensation, Centrelink and financial planning, with a particular focus on helping clients make informed decisions during periods of considerable uncertainty. With a background in accounting and financial advice, Paul brings a practical understanding of how legal, medical and financial systems intersect, and the challenges these can create for individuals and their families. His approach centres on working alongside clients and their legal representatives to navigate these complexities and achieve meaningful financial outcomes.
