Roger Singh, National Practice Leader, Shine Lawyers
Roger has brought a wealth of experience to his national role drawn from more than 25 years as a dust diseases and accredited specialist personal injury lawyer in Australia and the UK. In his quest for justice on behalf of victims and families suffering from Asbestos and silica related diseases, Roger has enjoyed landmark verdicts in the court of appeal and High Court of Australia – Alcan Gove Pty Ltd v Zabic {2015} HCA 33 – 257 CLR1. He has run some of the country’s first engineered stone silicosis claims and has achieved ground-breaking outcomes associated with silica induced autoimmune diseases like Scleroderma, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. He has been the country’s leading legal commentator on the engineered stone silicosis crisis and his relentless lobbying of government for safer workplaces throughout Australia contributed to pivotal legislative change. In March 2022 Roger’s dust diseases work was recognised with the coveted ALA National Civil Justice award. Additionally, Roger has been recognised for his work in abuse law, in the pre Royal Commission era successfully running some of the country’s first major institutional sexual abuse actions. In 2015 Roger was called upon to advocate for and represent the interests of abuse survivors, associated with the Brisbane Anglican Diocese, at the Royal Commission Inquiry into Historical Sexual Abuse. Roger known for his David and Goliath battles, has seen him take on and win high profile individual and group actions against the likes of: Dreamworld (River Rapids Disaster); Qantas (QF72 mid air plunge) and the ABC News Studio (Toowong) breast cancer cluster. Roger is a Queensland Law Society Personal Injuries Accredited Specialist. He has been recognised as a leading asbestos and dusts diseases litigator in Australia and has also been recognised as a leader in the field of Public Liability law.

Lian brings over 15 years of experience in law, specialising in dust diseases work and historical liability claims. With a background in alternative dispute resolution, Lian is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for clients. Her current practice focuses on dust-related cases, where she has been providing exemplary legal services to various clients, including NSW government clients in transport, education, public works, and health under the Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) and Comcare work on behalf of the Commonwealth Government. Lian’s clients appreciate her efficiency and practical, cost-effective approach to resolving or contesting litigations.
