Alexandra Moles, Partner, Mills Oakley
Alexandra is a Partner and co-manager of the Mills Oakley Family and Relationship Law practice in Brisbane. Alex has over 20 years of experience practising exclusively in family law. Her philosophy is simple - highly personalised, commercial and direct advice. She is a people person who is committed to her clients obtaining the earliest possible resolution of the legal issues arising from the beginning or end of a relationship. Her expertise and guidance is highly sought after and she is regarded as Preeminent in her field. Alex has a reputation for acting in high value and complex property matters and has been involved in many cases involving intergenerational family businesses and succession planning. Alex also has a strong parenting practice with a particular interest in high conflict cases, coercive control, personality disorders, psychiatric issues, alienation and drug and alcohol abuse. Alex has experience in mediation, child-inclusive mediation, and litigation about children. She is also trained in collaborative law.

The Hon. Colin Forrest SC, Mediator, Arbitrator, Sessional Judicial Member, QCAT
Early in 2021, Colin resigned from the Family Court of Australia after ten years of service as a trial judge and returned to practice at the Bar. He maintains chambers in both Sydney and Brisbane and is a member of Holmes List in Melbourne. Since leaving the Court, he has primarily focused on alternative dispute resolution, providing mediation and arbitration services to solicitors and their clients throughout Australia, both in person and via online platforms. Colin is also now again accepting briefs to advise and appear for clients in all matters before the FCFCOA courts, it being five years since he left the Court. Colin holds a statutory appointment as a Judicial Sessional Member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, hearing and determining cases there on a part-time basis. Colin is a member of the Bar Association of Queensland, the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Queensland (of which he is a past President), the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and serves as Queensland Board Member and Deputy Chair of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM). He is an AIFLAM/AMDRAS-accredited mediator, recognised as “pre-eminent” in Queensland by peers in Doyle’s List, and an accredited specialist arbitrator with extensive experience conducting arbitrations in Queensland and New South Wales, both in person and online. In 2024, Colin completed a Master’s Degree in International Relations at the University of Queensland, which he undertook part-time over several years. He enjoys travel, both domestically and internationally, is reasonably fluent in German and has some conversational Japanese ability (having lived and worked in Germany and Japan during university). At the moment, he is also learning Italian. In his spare time, he loves bushwalking, running, swimming and cycling.
