Marion Heathcote, Principal, Davies Collison Cave
Marion’s major area of practice is in Trade Mark law where she has gained extensive experience in strategically advising on international trade mark portfolio management and protection particularly within the Asia Pacific region. Marion is currently a Council member of MARQUES (the European Brand Owners Association), and is also Team Lead of their IP Emerging Issues Team. She has attended WIPO IGC meetings on MARQUES behalf. Having served on INTA’s Board of Directors and also on their Asia Pacific Advisory Council, Marion currently serves on INTA’s Trade Issues Committee and is also Co Chair of their Belonging and Inclusion Council. Previously Marion was the inaugural chair of both INTA’s Indigenous Rights Committee and Brands for a Better Society Committee. On behalf of INTA she has also provided support to a number of WIPO education initiatives for indigenous peoples and local communities including participating on behalf of INTA in the WIPO Women’s Entrepreneurial Programs. In 2019 Marion was the recipient of INTA’s prestigious President’s Award which ‘acknowledges the profound appreciation of the global trade mark community to INTA members who, over the course of their career, have made a lasting impact on the Association and its mission’. Marion has previously received INTA’s ‘Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Trademark Law’.

Sarah Dixon, Partner, FB Rice
Sarah Dixon is a partner in our Sydney trade mark team. Her practice includes advice, prosecution and management of global trade mark portfolios on behalf of both local and international clients. Her practice has spanned across various industries including fashion, entertainment, celebrity name protection, consumer goods, cosmetics, cannabis, medical devices and technology.

Cheryl Hrvoj, Senior Associate, Davies Collison Cave
Cheryl has extensive experience in the full breadth of trade mark matters and associated legal issues and disputes, specialising in the prosecution of trade mark applications and the conduct of opposition proceedings. She regularly helps clients determine whether a potential brand name is available for use in the Australian marketplace and registration on the Australian Trade Mark Register. Cheryl advises clients on the filing strategies in Australia and overseas to ensure that her clients obtain strong and broad protection for their brand name. She also assists clients in the enforcement of their trade mark rights, in particular, in the areas of trade mark infringement, related Australian Consumer Law actions and the common law action of passing off. Cheryl also specialises in online branding issues including domain name disputes such as abusive domain name registrations. Cheryl is a prize winning graduate of the University of Melbourne’s internationally recognised Master of Intellectual Property Law, winning the Pinkerton Scholarship for being the top student in International Issues in Intellectual Property Law. She also has an Honours degree of Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University. Cheryl is based in Perth and enjoys giving back to the IP profession as Co-Chair of Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand WA Committee.
