Charles Coorey, Partner, Gilbert + TobinCharles is a partner in the Competition, Consumer and Market Regulation group. He has over 20 years’ experience in advising on: all aspects of competition law including merger clearances, joint ventures, misuse of market power, cartel matters and distribution arrangements; all aspects of the Australian Consumer Law including product liability and product recalls, the consumer guarantees, misleading or deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct; access to infrastructure under Part IIIA of the Competition and Consumer Act including declaration applications and access undertakings; the Franchising Code of Conduct. Charles acts for clients in a wide range of industries, but has particular expertise in: advising private equity clients and their management teams on the whole life-cycle of investment, including initial due-diligence, ACCC merger clearances for bolt-on acquisitions and strategic exits, as well as any regulatory issues or investigations that may arise for the portfolio company; advising retail clients and healthcare and life sciences clients on contentions and non-contentious matters including dealing with competitors, distributors, suppliers and consumers, as well as online sales and product safety issues.

Georgia Campbell, Senior Associate, Thomson Geer
Georgia is a Senior Associate in Thomson Geer's Intellectual Property, Technology and Regulatory Team in Brisbane and has been working in the area of intellectual property for more than ten years. Georgia practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including intellectual property and technology disputes (involving trade marks, copyright, patents, designs and confidential information), licensing, agreements and litigation, and also has experience with commercial litigation, defamation and media law, privacy law, franchising law, and competition and consumer law. She acts for various entities from start-ups to large Australian and international corporations across a range of industries, including mining, construction, health and creative industries. Georgia has been involved in a range of litigation matters in the Federal and Federal Circuit Courts of Australia, as well as the State Court jurisdiction in Queensland. She regularly acts for clients in matters before IP Australia and the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and is also admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the High Court of New Zealand. She is a registered trade marks attorney and completed her Master of Laws with a focus on intellectual property law, privacy law and competition and consumer law in 2023.
