Jane Lin, Executive Director, Hospitality & Racing, Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport NSWJane Lin is the Executive Director of Data, Strategy & Performance at Hospitality & Racing NSW, where she leads strategic transformation across the division. Her portfolio spans data strategy, regulatory capability, strategic planning, project governance, and stakeholder engagement—driving a high-performing, future-focused regulatory culture. Jane joined the NSW Government in 2022 as Executive Director of Regulatory Operations at Liquor & Gaming NSW. There, she led the implementation of a risk-based regulatory framework across the liquor, gaming, wagering, lottery, and casino sectors. She also recently spent time in the role of Executive Director for 24-Hour, Screen & Sound, establishing operations and coordination across the Office of the 24 Hour Economy, Screen NSW, and Sound NSW teams. Prior to her public sector leadership in NSW, Jane spent two decades in regulatory enforcement, policy, and intelligence roles at the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) and Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator. Her career reflects a deep commitment to evidence-based regulation, strategic insight, and public value.
Jamie Nettleton, Partner, Addisons
Jamie Nettleton heads the gambling law practice of Addisons. Both Australian and international businesses rely on Jamie’s expertise to advise on all aspects of gambling operations, including the potential application of gambling law to innovative products and concepts, as well as their investments in gambling businesses. It is Jamie’s global reputation that sees him sought after to advise gaming machine manufacturers, wagering operators, casinos, social media, online gambling and other gambling and gaming service providers. Jamie’s advice includes licensing, regulatory and compliance issues, sports and racing integrity, consumer, advertising and privacy law issues, and more generally, the potential application of gambling law to. Jamie’s advice to international gambling operators setting up business in Australia extends to preparation of prospectuses. Jamie works closely with these clients in developing their Australian business strategies, particularly in connection with new technologies. Jamie’s position at the forefront of gambling law saw Jamie elected as President of the International Masters of Gaming Law for 2018 and 2019, and his role as a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne as a lecturer in Gambling and the Law. He has also been ranked as a leading gambling lawyer by Chambers Global every year since 2008.
Kenneth Yardy, Principal Lawyer, Yardy Legal
Kenneth Yardy is the Principal Solicitor of Yardy Legal, which has specialised in the Liquor & Gaming Area for nearly 20 years. Prior to that Kenneth was a NSW Police Detective & then a National Security Manager for a large Media Group. Their firm specialises in providing support to small & medium size hospitality enterprises such as Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants and Large-Scale Events. In between dealing with million dollar hotel transactions, partnerships disputes and Police/LGNSW prosecutions, he would like to see a greater scope for dogs to be allowed in strata as well as licensed premises (at the discretion of the licensee).

Arj is a Partner in the firm's Corporate group in Sydney, with a core focus on the Hospitality, Gaming & Leisure sector. He provides strategic legal counsel across a broad spectrum of matters, combining deep industry knowledge with a multidisciplinary legal background. Arj has developed a trusted reputation advising registered clubs servicing the team’s extensive client portfolio including sporting, RSL and workers clubs on a wide range of matters. These include corporate governance, commercial contracting, development projects, company meetings, amalgamations, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance with liquor, liquor and clubs legislation. Beyond his legal career, Arj is an active performer and contributor to Australia's arts and cultural sector. He was recognised by Australia Council as an Arts Leader (2020-2021); and is an award-winning composer, having received the 2022 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Original Score. His creative work has been featured at major festivals including Sydney Festival, Sydney Sacred Music Festival and Castlemaine Festival. He currently serves on the board of Belvoir St Theatre.
