Professor Anthony J. Langlois, Stan Perron Dean of Applied Ethics, Curtin University
Professor Anthony J. Langlois is the Stan Perron Dean of Applied Ethics in the Faculty of Business & Law at Curtin University. Langlois is a distinguished specialist on Human Rights and International Ethics, with over 25 years of experience as an educator, author and public speaker. He has an international reputation for his human rights scholarship, published by presses such as Cambridge and Oxford, and in leading academic journals. Langlois is the founding director of the Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics, a new initiative with a mandate to generate ethical reflection in education and industry on the big issues shaping our future, with a particular focus on Sustainability, the Climate Emergency, and Digital Transformation.

Dr Anne Fitzgerald, Barrister, QLD Bar
Dr Anne Fitzgerald is a Barrister (Queensland and Tasmania) with extensive experience in intellectual property law, e-commerce law, technology and the law, and international law. She has held senior academic positions at multiple Australian universities, including as Professor of Law at QUT, where she led major research projects and played a key role in the WIPO-QUT IP Masters program. Anne has been a member of Australia's key federal intellectual property advisory committees and was instrumental in implementing Creative Commons licensing in the Australian public sector. She has published extensively, with her latest book being Intellectual Property: Principles and Practice (2022).

John N West KC, Mediator and Arbitrator, 7 Wentworth Selborne
John has maintained a wide-ranging practice throughout his career appearing in Courts of first instance, at intermediate and appellate level, and in the High Court of Australia. He has regularly appeared in both State and Federal Courts and tribunals in NSW and across Australia. While the bulk of his work over many years has been in the commercial area, he has also developed a substantial speciality in industrial law and employment law generally. In this latter area he has appeared in many leading cases involving the Australian mining industry, the transport industry, and also in the Waterfront dispute. John appeared in the HIH Royal Commission and also in the Glenbrook Rail Inquiry. His work in commercial arbitration includes the lengthy proceedings consequent upon the closure of the submarine re-fit program at Cockatoo Island Dockyard, and also in international arbitrations. He has also considerable experience in coronial inquiries involving, for example, the aftermath of a collapse in a metalliferous mine. For some 10 years John has practised in commercial mediation both as counsel and more regularly as mediator in a broad range of matters involving such diverse fields as alleged breaches of directors' duties, disputes concerning franchise agreement and other contractual disputes of various types including financing contracts, employment contracts, leases, and building and construction contracts. John has been an active member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association over many years, culminating in his appointment as Regional Co-ordinator for the Asia Pacific region from 2011 to 2013. John has been recognised by Doyle's Guide in the areas of Arbitration, Mediation and in Health and Safety Law. He has also been recognised by Who's Who Legal in the field of Commercial Mediation.


Kerry Hogan-Ross, Consultant, Kerry Hogan-Ross Mediations
Kerry has been a legal practitioner since 1990 and was a partner in the litigation group of a large law firm (now known as DLA Piper) for 14 years. She has been an Accredited Mediator since 2013 mediating a wide range of cases including commercial, professional negligence, personal injury and historical abuse. Kerry also facilitates joint expert conclaves which are routinely ordered by courts.

Amanda Green, Associate Director, Perks People Solutions
Amanda is a highly experienced employment and industrial relations practitioner, having been a trusted adviser to local and national businesses for almost 20 years. Amanda has worked in private legal practice since 2004 and, most recently, was a Legal Practitioner Director of a national law firm that specialises in workplace relations. More recently, Amanda has utilised her skills and experience in a HR consulting capacity at Perks People Solutions, with particular focus on conducting workplace investigations and mediations. Over the course of her career, Amanda has worked with a broad array of clients in the public and private sectors, and has assisted them to navigate an equally diverse range of workplace-related issues – from recruitment to people management to resolving disputes. Amanda’s experience encompasses all aspects of workplace relations: legislative and industrial instrument interpretation, enterprise bargaining, performance management, disciplinary matters, underpayments, termination/separation, redundancies, and policies and procedures. To complement her legal qualifications and experience, Amanda holds a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology, and is a Saville-accredited assessment specialist.


Nicola McMahon, Special Counsel, McCullough Robertson
Nicola McMahon is a specialist employment relations and safety lawyer, having practised in this area for over twelve years. Nicola acts for clients across the full spectrum of employment relations matters. She advises on issues ranging from recruitment to termination of employment, managing employee performance and discipline issues, advising on the interpretation of modern awards and enterprise agreements and assisting with industrial issues, including the negotiation and approval of enterprise agreement. Alongside providing advice to clients, Nicola regularly conducts litigation for clients, defending unfair dismissal, adverse action and discrimination claims, and bringing and defending restraint of trade claims in the High Court.
