Brenton Devanny, Barrister, Madison Chambers
Brenton Devanny has a broad commercial practice. He has a focus on insolvency, banking and finance, commercial arbitration and corporations law. Brenton appears both unled and as a junior. He is a market leader in high-tech legal conferencing and remote appearances with state-of-the-art chambers in Melbourne. He often appears remotely throughout Australia and beyond. Brenton holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne (with a focus on International Insolvency and Arbitration) as well as a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Daniel Emmerig, Barrister, 9 Wentworth Chambers
Daniel accepts briefs to advise and appear in all areas of law, with a particular focus on commercial and corporate law. Prior to coming to the Bar, Daniel was an Associate in the Disputes and Investigations team at Allens. Daniel has experience in a range of areas including commercial law, class actions, corporations and insolvency, civil penalty proceedings, superannuation, and environment and planning law. Daniel also has experience acting in regulatory matters, including investigations and proceedings conducted by ASIC, APRA, ATO, the AFP and the former Department of Planning and Environment. Daniel is also currently studying a LLM in International Corporate and Commercial Law at King's College London.

Lydia Kinda, Barrister & Mediator, Svenson Barristers
Lydia has practiced at the Victorian Bar since 2004 mainly in commercial disputes, insolvency and wills & estates with a strong interest in equity. While Lydia enjoys the challenge of preparing a case for litigation, accredited as a mediator in 2004 and nationally accredited in 2008 she also aims to facilitate non-litigious outcomes wherever possible. In addition to her legal skills, Lydia previously managed a range of businesses resulting in a high level of financial literacy – which has proven to be vital to managing the sometimes erratic nature of Bar Practice and in her role as a director of a not-for profit board managing a retirement facility. Lydia considers all her interests have been enriched by her training in professional responsibility and ethics.

Jason Polese, Barrister & Mediator, 4 Wentworth Chambers
Jason practises in general commercial litigation, with a keen interest in consumer law, property and employment. Jason has appeared and been involved in all NSW civil jurisdictions, including the NCAT, Local Court, District Court, Supreme and Federal Courts, on a wide variety of matters including, business and commercial disputes, corporate litigation including statutory demands and winding up, bankruptcy, partnership matters, employment, equity and trust matters, and debt recovery. Prior to being called to the Bar, Jason worked as a solicitor in small firms, with a hands-on approach to clients. Previous to being admitted as a Lawyer, Jason was a hospitality Guru, managing employees and businesses for large restaurant groups, international hotels and running businesses of his own. As a Lawyer, Jason has brought this business “know-how” to assist commercial clients with his insight and understanding of the business and hospitality domain. His main areas are commercial and corporate litigation, property, insolvency and bankruptcy, building and construction and employment.
