Katie is an Associate Director in Cowell Clarke’s corporate and commercial team. Katie’s has vast experience drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements for clients in a variety of industries. Her practice also focuses on the areas of intellectual property, information technology, privacy law and the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) (PPSA). Katie has presented a number of workshops and seminars on the PPSA to clients in various industries along with industry bodies. Katie also works closely with clients implementing internal procedures to ensure compliance with the PPSA and to mitigate her clients risk exposure. Katie has been nominated for the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia in commercial Law, intellectual property law and information technology law.
Michelle Hamlyn, Barrister Murray Chambers
Michelle has a broad civil and commercial practice and accepts briefs to advise and appear in all Australian jurisdictions, including as counsel in alternative dispute resolution processes. She has particular specialist experience practising in the areas of defamation and media law. Other significant areas of practice include contract, property, consumer law, corporations law, intellectual property, administrative law, common law negligence, estates and equity. Prior to joining the independent bar, Michelle enjoyed a broad and varied commercial practice within the Commercial Dispute Resolution team at a top tier national firm for over a decade. During that time, she also gained experience on secondment in-house with ABC Legal.
