Richard Grainger, Global DFIR Lead, Triskele Labs
Richard has over ten years experience in a digital forensics and incident response within law enforcement and private enterprise. Proficient in the acquisition, analysis, management and reporting of electronic evidence located on computers, servers and mobile devices. Providing subject matter expertise to organisations and expert witness testimony in judicial proceedings.


Michael Parrant, Director & Cyber Insurance Practice Leader, Aon
Michael is Aon’s Cyber Insurance Practice Leader which involves management and advice involving all facets of cyber risk and insurance, including the negotiation and placement for many of Aon’s most complicated clients, presenting the outcomes to Audit & Risk Committees and Boards, claims advocacy, technical reviews of coverage and risk profiling of client’s cyber risks as well as industry analysis and creation of thought leadership materials. Michael earned a MSc with Distinction in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London and also has a degree in Financial Risk Management & Banking and Finance from Victoria University. Further he has his Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is Tier 1 and 2 FSR compliant. With specialist skills in all financial lines products, Michael has spent the last 15+ years focusing on global and complex firms for their Technology Errors & Omissions and Cyber insurance placements from Australia and London. Michael started his career with Aon in 2002, and has been involved in Financial Lines since then, with a focus on cyber for 10+ years. Following almost 3 years in Aon’s global Head Office in London with the Global Broking Centre which saw Michael focus on Cyber Liability Technology Errors and Omissions and Intellectual Property global insurance placements, Michael has chosen to progress his career with Aon Australia as the Insurance head of the newly created Cyber Solutions Group.


Nicole Gabryk, Partner, Wotton & Kearney
Nicole has significant experience in advising on all aspects of cyber insurance, ranging from responding to cyber breach incidents and implementing strategies to mitigate liability risks, through to defending complex litigation arising from data breaches. She has acted for insurers, international mining houses, international retail outlets, global and regional social media and telecommunication providers, marketing firms, banks and medical service providers in managing privacy and data breach incidents. Nicole, who moved to Australia from South Africa, has advised on cyber incident response management for breaches occurring around the world (including in Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Mauritius, Lesotho, the UK and Europe (under the GDPR)). As part of W+K’s cyber practice, she has provided legal and privacy advice under state and federal privacy laws, and acts as a cyber breach lawyer for first and third party cyber risks. Nicole is dual qualified in Australia and South Africa, and before specialising in cyber insurance, advised on a wide variety of construction related claims and disputes.


Colin Pausey, Chief Operating Officer, Emergence Insurance Pty Ltd
Over the past 30 years, Colin has had the unique experience of advising both insurers and managed insurance operations in both general insurance and life insurance related disciplines. As a lawyer he has conducted litigation and advised on policy wordings and compliance issues on behalf of both life and general insurers, reinsurers and insurance brokers, including cyber policies. In the insurance industry he has operational management experience, including managing binding authorities on behalf of both local and Lloyd's underwriters, and has also managed administration agreements and master policy arrangements on behalf of life insurers. Colin works with life insurers and accident and health underwriters, advising on claims issues as well as policy wordings and compliance related issues. He also advises on cyber risk issues. Colin works with life insurers and financial adviser groups, as well as local insurers and Lloyd's underwriters in relation to accident and health related covers. Colin has a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Law from the University of Sydney, as well as holding a Diploma of Financial Services (SPA3). Colin was a responsible manager under a number of Australian Financial Services Licences and has sat on the Board of a number of private companies. Colin was a partner at Abbott Tout in the period 1986 to 1994 and a partner at McCabes (including a period as managing partner and chair of partners) in 1994 to 2004. In 2004 he joined IUS as Group General Counsel and became Group Deputy Managing Director in 2006. Following the merger of IUS and Coverforce in 2011, Colin became Chief Operating Officer at Coverforce. He left Coverforce in early 2013 and became a partner in a small Sydney law firm before joining Sparke Helmore in June 2014. Colin now leads a quiet life in Sydney's inner east. He enjoys watching live sport, live music, walking and free meals at his wife's caf‚ on the weekends.
