Dr Stephene Tully, Barrister, Sixth Floor St James' Hall Chambers
Dr Tully practises on the sixth floor of St James' Hall Chambers. Before coming to the bar, Dr Tully was a solicitor with Commonwealth tribunals practising administrative and immigration law, became an accredited specialist in government and administrative law in 2011 and was formerly an editor for the Australian Journal of Administrative Law. Dr Tully’s broad practice now includes administrative, family, criminal, commercial and international law.


Valerie Pereira, Principal, Da Gama Pereira & Associates Pty. Ltd.
Valerie is Principal Lawyer of Da Gama Pereira & Associates and an Accredited Immigration Law Specialist. Valerie practices Immigration Law and is involved with Tech Start-ups. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, and a Master of Law from Overseas and Australia. She also holds a Master of Laws from Monash University a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice Management form the College of Law, Sydney and a Certificate in American Immigration Law from Emory University-Georgia. She is also Registered as a Foreign Legal Consultant with the State Bar of California. Valerie has been involved in several court cases in matters against the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs and has also had success with migration law matters in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. She is the immediate past Chair of the Law Council (LCA)of Australia’s Migration Law Committee and is now a current member of the FDRS Executive Committee. (LCA.) Valerie is also a current Member of Administrative Law and Human Rights Committee, and the Migration Law Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) and the current chair of the Accredited Specialisation (Immigration Law Committee. She was also the Ex-Chair of the Migration Law Committee, Ex Dy. Chair of the Administrative Law and Human Rights Committee. Valerie has been an active member in organising as well as participating in the Migration Law, and Commonwealth Law Conferences of the Law Council of Australia. Valerie has been recognised for her expertise in migration law by Best Lawyers since 2019 and continues to hold that award. She was also voted as “Lawyer of the year 2020” for her work in Immigration Law.


Karyn Anderson, Partner, Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers
Karyn Anderson graduated from the University of Melbourne in Arts and Law and holds a Master of Laws (cum laude) in Public International Law from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. She was admitted to legal practice in 1993 and has practiced solely in the areas of immigration and refugee law for twenty years. She established her own legal practice with Michael Clothier over a decade ago. Karyn has extensive experience in all areas of immigration and refugee law including preparing primary visa applications and submissions to the Department, representing applicants in merits review applications in the AAT as well as judicial review in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and High Court of Australia. Karyn became an accredited immigration law specialist in 2000 and has served on the Law Institute's Immigration Law Specialisation Committee, which sets the examinations for lawyers wanting to be accredited as specialists, for many years. Karyn has been selected by her peers each year since 2009 as one of Australia's "Best Lawyers" in the field of Immigration Law published annually in the Australian Financial Review, following a rigorous peer review survey.

Lily Ong is originally from Malaysia and migrated to Australia in the 1980s. Lily obtained degrees in Economics and Law from Monash University.
