Tegan is the founder of Social Law Co., a law firm which provides legal services related to social media, collaborations, professional services, apps and online business. In her 14 years of legal practice, Tegan has worked both in-house for Deloitte, and in private legal practice for several law firms, on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, with a focus on commercial law, corporate law, intellectual property law, privacy law, consumer law and media law. During her career, Tegan has acted for clients of various sizes, from small start-ups through to companies listed on the ASX. Her industry expertise includes retail, advertising, publishing, travel, tourism and professional services. Tegan saw a niche market in creating commercial legal agreements for influencer marketing campaigns and collaborations, as well as terms and conditions for trade promotions conducted via social media platforms, online businesses, marketplaces, digital courses and emerging apps. Social Law Co. was established to service that niche market. Tegan regularly advises public relations and influencer marketing agencies, influencers and brands on their commercial agreements and legal compliance. She is a Deputy Chair of the Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) Guiding Council, and was recently appointed as a Director of Audited Media Association of Australia Limited. She is regularly asked to provide commentary to the media on emerging legal issues in the social media space, and is a guest lecturer at Bond University on Social Media Law. Tegan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Public Relations, and in 2021, she won Thought Leader of the Year at the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards for her work in the influencer marketing space. She has also been a brand ambassador in her own right for Silk Laundry.

Ms. Brigit Rubinstein, Co-founder and Principal Lawyer,
Brigit is the co-founder and Principal Lawyer at IP boutique practice Level Up Legal. Brigit is a self-professed IP Geek. She has a Masters degree in Intellectual Property law and has had more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property and commercial dispute resolution, including assisting large corporate clients and SME’s across a broad range of industries with their offline and online brand enforcement, trade mark and passing off disputes, copyright infringement, and other IP and IT related disputes. After spending 15 years as a Partner at a Top Tier Law Firm, Brigit spent nearly 4 years as the Practice Leader of the Regulatory and IP Disputes team at a fast growing New Law firm before following her dream of opening her own IP Law Practice.

Ms. Alison Jones, Special Counsel, Corrs Chambers Westgarth
Alison is a Special Counsel at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia’s leading independent law firm and practises in IP, competition and consumer law, entertainment law and related areas. Alison has expertise across a broad range of areas, including IP protection and enforcement, commercialisation (including licensing, distribution and sponsorship), advertising collateral, complaints and disputes, industry ethics, competition and consumer law, anti-bribery, anti-counterfeiting, confidential information, cross-border transactions, contract drafting and due diligence. She advises various leading companies on a range of regulatory issues including food law, cosmetics, life sciences and therapeutic goods regulation, trade, customs, administrative action, investigations, product liability and recalls, privacy and data protection. Alison has undertaken various client secondments in global companies at General Counsel level including a US headquartered pharmaceutical and life sciences company, a leading multinational FMCG company and a major global interactive marketing services company. She is a committee member of the IP Society of Australia and New Zealand (NSW), a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries, and is listed on the Register of Lawyers of the Ad Standards Industry Jury. Alison has also completed the Leadership Development Program through the NUS Business School Executive Education in Singapore.

Ms. Heidi Bruce, Principal and Managing Director, Anisimoff Legal
Heidi Bruce is a Principal and Managing Director, Sydney of Anisimoff Legal, which is a specialist advertising, marketing and media law firm and member of Adlaw International. Heidi has over 20 years experience with Anisimoff Legal and is an expert in all aspects of law relating to the advertising, marketing and media industries. She gives commercial advice and strategic guidance to businesses, in-house counsel and advertising and media agencies. Her specialties include advertising and marketing law, intellectual property, commercial contracts, privacy, consumer law, commercial law, media law, social media, digital law, advertising clearance and food regulatory advice. Heidi presents on advertising law at MCLE education events for lawyers, has taught advertising and intellectual property law at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and the Enmore College of Design. Heidi regularly speaks at advertising events and in-house training seminars for clients.

Mr. Peter Leonard, Principal, Data Synergies
Peter Leonard is a consultant and lawyer advising data and AI enabled businesses and government agencies. Peter is principal of Data Synergies and Professor of Practice at UNSW Business School (working across the Schools of Management, and IT Systems and Management). Peter chairs the ADMA Regulatory and Advocacy Working Group, the IoTAA’s Data work stream, the Law Society of New South Wales’ Privacy and Data Committee, and the Australian Computer Society’s Artificial Intelligence and Ethics Technical Committee. He serves on a number of corporate and advisory boards. Peter was a founding partner of Gilbert + Tobin, now a large Australian law firm, and is now a part-time consultant to that firm.

Sarah is a Special Counsel in Holding Redlich’s Corporate and Commercial group. Sarah's expertise is in intellectual property, transactional and regulatory matters, with a focus on the media, entertainment and technology industries. Sarah's clients include broadcasters, technology companies and start-ups, advertising agencies, production companies, consumer brands, government agencies and private equity investors.

Mr. Matt Hansen, Partner, Anisimoff Legal
Matt Hansen is a Partner at Anisimoff Legal, which is a specialist advertising, marketing and media law firm and member of Adlaw International. Matt has been with Anisimoff Legal since 2006 and manages the firm’s trade promotions practice group. Matt regularly provides in house training seminars for agency and brand clients in respect of trade promotions, intellectual property, privacy and marketing laws, as well as specialist training for industry compliance in areas such as liquor. He is an expert in trade promotions law, and regularly advises clients in this space as well as providing commercial advice on intellectual property, commercial contracts, privacy, consumer law, advertising standards and codes, social media, liquor, wagering, environmental claims and therapeutic goods.

Jodie Sangster is a data-driven marketing expert and qualified lawyer specializing in privacy and data protection. Her extensive experience spans over 20 years, including roles in the US, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Jodie is currently the ‘AI in Marketing’ Mentor for the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) leading and supporting the learning journey for students embedding AI into their marketing practices. She is also an senior advisor to the New Zealand Government - Department of Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) providing expertise in business strategy, data, marketing and technology to NZ-based businesses looking to expand into Australia. Prior to this role, Jodie held executives roles at IBM including, Chief Marketing Officer ANZ (2020-2022), Chief Marketing Officer Singapore ( 2019-2020) and Chief Customer Officer IBM Watson Customer Engagement ( 2018-2019). Before Joining IBM, Jodie served seven years as CEO of Australia’s largest marketing association – the Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) - representing and supporting over 700 companies and corporations. She has also held roles in the USA as SVP Global Development for the Direct Marketing Association and in Asia Pacific as Chief Privacy Officer for Acxiom. She holds commercial and not-for-profit non-Executive Director roles in Australia and U.K.
