Bring These Items To Get The Most Out Of In-Person Seminars

We’ve all been there: you go to a conference and realise that you’ve left your phone charger at home or didn’t bring pen and paper, so you’re not able to keep up with your note-taking. Or you forgot to bring some snacks, so you feel distracted the whole day.

When you attend Legalwise Seminars’ in-person CPD courses in Australia, it’s best to have a checklist of things to pack in your bag so that you get the most out of attending. Let’s take a look at what we think you should remember to bring along:

Your Business Cards

Always bring a few business cards because in-person CPD events are a great opportunity for networking. Even in today’s digital age, many professionals still like exchanging physical business cards to make connections with others.

Notebook and Pen

Although most conference venues will offer a notebook and pen for taking notes, it’s always good to have your own just in case there aren’t any available. Having a few handwritten notes can go a long way towards helping you recall what was spoken about.

Smartphone With The Right Apps

Of course, you’re going to bring your smartphone with you, but make sure it’s fully charged and loaded with useful apps that can help you track your schedule and take quick notes. Apps like OneNote or Evernote can help you organise your thoughts and materials from the sessions.

Portable Charger

If you’re going to be at an event all day, your phone might run flat. Therefore, pack a power bank that can recharge your devices on the fly.

Water Bottle and Snacks

Although many seminars offer refreshments, it’s not always guaranteed. To avoid disappointment, bring your own water bottle and some light snacks like protein bars or nuts to keep you hydrated and energised throughout the event.

Digital Recorder or Voice-To-Text App

Recording the sessions can be valuable for later reference. Install a recording and voice-to-text app on your phone or bring a digital recorder. A voice-to-text app, like Otter, could help you transcribe spoken content directly into written notes that can be saved and referred to later.

Hand Sanitiser and Tissues

After shaking hands with lots of people, touching food and going to public bathrooms, it’s a good idea to have personal hand sanitiser and some tissues on hand to help you stay fresh and clean throughout the day.

Whether or not you attend our CPD courses in Australia prepared with the above items, you will still benefit from earning your CPD points! Contact us now to sign up with Legalwise Seminars or check out our upcoming events.
